Established in 1933, Springfield's Museum of Fine Arts features fine and decorative arts ranging from high class oil paintings to American and European sculptures and works on paper. The art deco building houses such notable works as Erastus Salisbury Field's giant Historical Monument of the American Republic, Winslow Homer's Promenade on the Beach, and glass works by Dave Chihuly. Part of Springfield's renowned cluster of four museums, it lies in the heart of the city, near the City Library.
