The Connecticut Valley Historical Museum utilizes permanent and changing exhibits to tell the story of the region from 1636 to the present day. Its collection holds important artifacts, such as antique cars and motorcycles, industrial materials from the area's myriad factories, and select firearms from the Smith & Wesson collection. Visitors also may learn about regional celebrities like Dr. Seuss. The museum resides in the heart of town, near the Springfield City Library.
